The Plano Piranhas is a recreational swim team of the City of Plano Parks and Recreation Department and is affiliated with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (www.taaf.com). Practices are held on weekdays, morning and afternoon, during the months of June and July.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Plano Piranhas Swimming Team is to provide all Piranhas members and their families a “taste” of competitive swimming. The team will emphasize good leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship and respect toward others in practices and competition.

We dedicate ourselves to making the Plano Piranhas Swimming Team a swimming program that will present an introduction to the sport of competitive swimming. Our emphasis will be toward stroke technique and conditioning as well as promoting good sportsmanship and teamwork.

 Swimming Meets

During the summer season, the Piranhas participate at weekly swim meets. The meets are held either on Friday nights or Saturdays. They will compete with other cities in the North Texas area. The swim meets are optional for swimmers, though swimmers are encouraged to attend at least one. Swimmers will be able to select some of the events he/she will swim. All swimmers are encouraged to try different strokes and events throughout the season. The season will conclude with the Regional and State Competition in July and/or August.
